Which type of energy is stored in fossil fuels?

    Chemical and potential energy, or, chemical potential energy

    Explanation:

    There is stored energy in the chemical bonds of these resources, (gas, oil, coal). But because these fuels are usually in geographical locations and not in use, they have potential energy instead of kinetic.
