    5.40 g

    Explanation:

    dа ta: P = 0.998 atm, V = 1.0L, T = 295 K, n=?

    use ideal gas law PV = nRT to solve for n. Rearranging the formula gives, n = PV : RT substitute the values into the formula, n = 0.998 atm * 1.0 L : 0.08206 L• atm/mol•K * 295 K all units will cancel and n = 0.0412 mol now solve for mass using n=mass : Molar mass m = n * Mm Mm of iodine = 131 g/mol m = 0.0412mol * 131 g/mol m = 5.40 g
