How does the kinetic-molecular theory explain why atmospheric pressure is greater at lower altitudes than at higher altitudes?

    Answer:The kinetic-molecular theory explains that there is more pressure at lower altitudes because there are more obstacles for the gas molecules to run into to cause collisions. At higher altitudes, there is more space for the gas molecules to travel and not bump into things therefore not as much pressure is created.
