    = 3.1966 * 10^22 molecules of Oxygen

    Explanation;

    The equation for the reaction is;

    2 HgO → 2 Hg + O2

    Given 23 g of HgO;

    Moles of HgO = 23 / 216.6 g/mol

    = 0.1062 moles

    Mole ratio; HgO : O2 = 2 : 1

    Thus; moles of Oxygen = 0.1062 moles/2

    = 0.0531 moles

    But; 1 mole of oxygen = 6.02 * 10 ^23 molecules

    Therefore; molecules of oxygen produced

    = 6.02 * 10^23 molecules * 0.0531 moles

    = 3.1966 * 10^22 molecules
