The answer is D. It was frozen.

This is because freezing an object doesn't change chemical properties, only change the state of the matter.

when you hit a chemical with hammer and it was frozen only its physical properties will change and not he chemical properties,

when heated it may decompose to other chemical

when you hit with hamer it physical appearance will change but it remains chemically the same

when you put in salt solution, it wil interact with ions and its chemical properties changes

similarly when it was frozen, it retains its chemical properties.
