If a map of temperature displayed stripes parallel to the equator with equal temperatures at equivalent distances north and south of the equator, it would mean that only blank affected temperature.

    The temperature on the equator is very high while going above and below the equation, temperature is decreases.

    Explanation:

    On the equator, the temperature is high as compared to the poles because the sun light directly hit the surface of earth while going above or below the equator the temperature decreases due to the lower angle of the sun. There is a short distance between the sun and the equator of the earth while more distance is covered by the sun light in order to reach the poles so very little sun light reaches the poles.
