Any molecule that is made mostly of carbon with no metals in it.

    Explanation:

The previous definition of organic compounds was the compounds which are obtained from any living organism. However after the laboratory synthesis of urea, the definition was no longer true.

According to chemistry, an organic compound is one which is made up of carbon [generally bonded to non metals like hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, halogens, sulfur, phosphorous etc]. Carbon has the distinct ability to form bonds with other carbon atoms (catenation) which results in formation of large number of this class of compounds.
