ATP is Adenosine Triphosphate, it is made within the cell.

The first step is glycolysis, that creates 2 ATP

next step, Krebs cycle, it creates 2 ATP.

then, the Electron Transport Chain creates 34 ATP

It is said to be very important because it transports the energy necessary for all cellular metabolic activities

When a cell needs energy, it breaks this bond to form adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and a free phosphate molecule ... When the cell has excess energy, it stores this energy by forming ATP from ADP and phosphate. ATP is required for the biochemical reactions involved in any muscle contraction.
