What is the link between the electronic structure of ions and the electronic structure of Noble gases

    The electronic structure of ions and noble gases are same.

    Explanation:

    Noble gases are also called inert gases in periodic table because their valance shall is completely filled with electron and can't react with other atoms. Similarly atoms which have lost or gain electrons to form ions will also have completely filled valance shall, because they have a complete charge and make ionic bond with other atoms.

    Since ions and noble gases both completely filled valance shall, thus the electronic structure of both will be same.
