    3.95 x 10³ s⁻¹.

    Explanation:

∵ The value of the half-life is independent of the initial concentration of the reactant present.

∴ The reaction is a first order reaction.

The relation between half-life (t1/2) and rate constant for the first order reaction is: (t1/2) = ln2/k = 0.693/k.

    ∴ k = ln2 / (t1/2) = 0.693 / (1.751 x 10⁻⁴ s) = 3.95 x 10³ s⁻¹.
