    The subscript for H is 10.

    The formula for butanol is C₄HₓO.

    x = (6.0 * 10²⁴ H atoms/1 mol butanol)

    * (1 mol butanol/6.022 * 10²³ molecules butanol)

    = 10 H atoms/molecule butanol

    ∴ The formula for butanol is C₄H₁₀O.
