    M = (no. of moles of solute) / (V of the solution (L)).

    ∴ M = (mass/molar mass) of KNO₃ / (V of the solution (L)).

    ∴ M = (mass/molar mass) of KNO₃ / (V of the solution (L)) = (53.27 g / 101.1 g/mol) / (0.461 L) = 1.143 M.
