The correct answer is: B. To separate Earth's four hemispheres.

The prime meridian and the Equator, on their own can only be used for the separation of the four hemispheres on the Earth.

The Equator is dividing the Earth in South Hemisphere and North Hemisphere.

The prime meridian is dividing the Earth in East Hemisphere and West Hemisphere.

Maybe it seems as this is only a very obscure information, but the hemispheres can actually tell a lot about certain part of the planet, as all of them have their own unique traits, be it landmasses, water bodies, climate types, biomes, human settlements, etc.
