You have 627 ml of 5.04 M HCl. Using a volumetric pipet, you take 229 ml of that solution and dilute it to 921 ml in a volumetric flask. Now you take 100.00 ml of that solution and dilute it to 192 ml in a volumetric flask. What is the concentration of hydrochloric acid in the final solution?     M1V1 = M2V2

    M1 = 5.04 M

    V1 = 229 mL (you take only this volume)

    V2 = 921 mL

    5.04*229 = M2 * 921

    M2 = (5.04*229) / 921 Molarity

    M1V1 = M2V2

    M1 = (5.04*229) / 921

    V1 = 100 mL

    V2 = 192 mL

    (5.04*229) / 921 * 100 = M2 * 192

    M2 = [ (5.04*229) / 921 * 100]/192 = 0.653 final molarity
