    Potential Energy

    Explanation:

Potential energy is the energy available when a body is at a state of rest or in virtue of its position. Its formula is mgh.

The quarter back's hasn't thrown the ball yet even though it has the potential to do so later on which makes it possess

    Potential energy.

As soon as the arm moves and the ball is thrown, the potential energy is converted to Kinetic energy. The kinetic energy is the energy available as a result of the motion (movement) of a body.

Reason why: because the quarterbacks arm has the potential to throw a ball but since it is not throwing the ball, the energy is being held ... this holding of energy is called potential energy
