    The answer to your question is P2 = 2.64 atm

    Explanation:

    Data

    Volume 1 = 2.35 L

    Temperature 1 = 122°C

    Pressure 1 = 1.78 atm

    Volume 2 = 1.15 L

    Temperature 2 = 14°C

    Pressure 2 = ?

    Process

    To solve this problem use the combined gas law.

    P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2

    -Solve for P2

    P2 = P1V1T2/T1V2

    1. - Convert temperature to °K

    Temperature 1 = 122 + 273 = 395°K

    Temperature 2 = 14 + 273 = 287°K

    2. - Substitution

    P2 = (1.78 x 2.35 x 287) / (395 x 1.15)

    3. - Simplification

    P2 = 1200.521 / 454.25

    4. - Result

    P2 = 2.64 atm
