    Chlorofluorocarbons are compounds containing, Carbon (C), Fluorine (F) and Chlorine (Cl)

    For example, let us consider the following CFC, tri-fluoro chloro methane CF3Cl. The amount of Cl in 25 Kg of the above cab be calculated as shown

    Molecular mass of CF3Cl = 12 + 3*19 + 35.5 = 104.5 g/mol

    In CF3Cl, there is 1 mole of Cl for every 1 mole of CF3Cl

    The % Cl in the given formula mass of the CFC = (35.5/104.5) * 100 = 33.97 %

    Therefore the amount of Cl in a 25 kg sample of CFC = 33.97% * 25 Kg = 8.49 kg
