In Ionic bonding, the valence electrons are taken from the less electronegative atom and the more electronegative atom recieves it.

In Covalent bonding, the valence electrons are shared between atoms, which create a bond.

In Metallic bonding, the valence electrons are de-localized, floating in a sea of electrons.
