What do you think would happen in terms of night and day if earth stopped rotating?

If the Earth stopped spinning, then one half of the planet would be in day for half of a year and the other half in darkness. After half a year, or until the dark side of the Earth faces the sun, it will be day. Since the Earth won't be spinning, the dark side will freeze over, killing most species while the light side will become too hot because of greenhouse gases.
