    Formula equations are more descriptive and shows the ratio of atoms combining to give products more explicitly.

    This makes chemical calculations more easier and stoichoimetric relationships can better be drawn.

    Word equations are limited. They can even be very cumbersome a times to decipher.

    Chemical formulas in equations captures the essence of a reaction much more better.

    We know;

    number of moles of species nature of molecules and compounds reacting state of matter reaction medium heat changes accompanying a reaction

    from formula equations.

    All of these details might become obscured in word equations and difficult to resolve.
