    5.53 grams

    Explanation:

    How many grams of potassium chloride are produced from 2.70 g of

    potassium?

    Potassium chloride = KCl Molar mass: 74.54 g/mol

    Potassium = K = 1 + charge = 39.09g/mol

    Cl = 1 - charge = 35.45

    If we only have Potassium well no grams of potassium chloride are produced as we have no chlorine.

    If we have some chlorine as well though then

    2K + Cl2 = 2KCl

    2:1 : 2

    So same number of moles of K and KCl

    2.7grams of K so 2.7g/39.09g/mol = 0.07419 moles

    What's the weight of 0.07419 moles of KCl?

    0.07419 x 74.54 = 5.53 grams
