Why is it important for an IV solution to have salts in it?

    It is important for an IV solution to have salts in it because you have to say to it that the solution going into your bloodstream have more or less similar solute composition. If this is not met, then you will cause imbalance because you are lowering the concentration of salt in your bloodstream.
