A cylinder with a movable piston contains a sample of gas having a volume of 6.0 liters at 293 K and 1.0 atmosphere. What is the volume of the sample after the gas is heated to 303 K, while the pressure is held at 1.0 atmosphere?

(1) 9.0 L (3) 5.8 L

Using Charle's law, which states that at constant pressure, volume and temperature are directly proportional. V1/T1=V2/T2

    This can also be expressed as V1 (T2) = V2 (T1)

So we know V1, T1, and T2. Solving for V2 we get 6.2 Liters. So (2)

The volume increases with the increase in tempature. I didnt claculate it, but it's probably 6.2.

Use the equation P1xV1/T1=P2xV2/T2 to solve combined gas law equations.
