Explain why ships traveling from east to west across the Atlantic take days longer than ships traveling the same distance from west to east.

    Because when traveling from east to west you are traveling with the earth's rotation. However when you are traveling from west to east you traveling against the earth's rotation causing you to get to your location faster.
