An electron falls from energy level X to energy level Y and releases blue light. A different electron falls from energy level Y to energy level Z and releases red light. Which transition, from X to Y (blue) or from Y to Z (red), had s grrater energy difference? Explain your answer and how you arrived at it.

    Blue light has a shorter wavelength than red light. Shorter wavelengths have hgher energy levels. And can be calculated from Plancks constant: Therefore Blue light (470nm) has a more energy than Red light (700nm) and a transition that releases Blue light will be at a higher energy level than one that releases Red light.
