A student recorded the following buret readings during titration of a base with an acid

    In reading correctly laboratory apparatus used for measuring volumes, it should be read from the meniscus of the substance in the apparatus. For substance like water, it should in the lower meniscus. While for mercury, it should be the upper meniscus. Hope this answers the question.
