An irregularly stone was lowered into a graduated cylinder holding a volume of water equal to 2.0 mL. the height of the water rose to 7.0 mL. if the mass of the stone was 25g, what was it's density

    Density = 5 g/mL

    7 mL - 2 mL = 5 mL

    Since the stone displaces the water by 5 mL, its density can be given by

    mass/volume = 25 g / 5 mL

    = 5 g/mL
