Calculate the following:

The number of moles of SiO2 needed to produce 10.0 moles of CO.

    SiO₂ + 2C → Si + 2CO

    mole ratio of SiO₂ : CO is 1 : 2

    ∴ if moles of CO is 10 mol

    then moles of SiO₂ = 10 mol : 2

    = 5 mol
