    Atomic Radius

The more number of protons present in the nuclei of an atom, the more force of attraction will be there and the atom will be compact (. It means that the size of the atom will decrease and automatically the atomic radii (radius) will decrease.

So, when we go across the periodic table the amount of protons in an atom increase therefore it is concluded that atomic radius decreases.
