Phosphorus doesn't typically have a charge, because it is involved in covalent bonds, not ionic bonds. The molecule is relatively large with moderate electronegativity and has a lone pair that can be donating, so I would say it would prefer a positive charge over a negative charge if it has to, but more than not it wants to be neutral.
