Explain the processes of convergence and divergence

Convergence or Convergent Synthesis is the process of Synthesising a compound and that adding it up linearly to make a final compound, much like it is done in Biological Pathways, whereas in Divergent Synthesis which is an alternate to Convergence multiple variations of one compound are made by reacting the parent compound with several reactants to make a wide array of new compounds.
