How much heat is released when 161 g of steam at 100 degree C cools to ice at 0 degrees celcius

    1 gram of Water condenses to release, 540 calories of heat energy there fore we simply multiply 161g steam with 540 to get: 86940 calories

    to drop from 100 to 0 degrees we remove 161 x 100=16100

    and to convert water at 0 to ice at 0 degrees for 1 gram we need 80 calories so for 161 we need 161 x 80 = 12880

    so now we add all 86940+16100+12880 = 115920 calories

    485333.856joules or 485.33Kj
