    Solids have molecules that are held tightly together in close bonds. (positive bonded to a negative) They can bend or vibrate but still stay bonded together closely. Solids have very little kinetic energy.

    Liquids have molecules that are held in looser bonds. They move more freely and more randomly that in a solid. It is common for the bonds to be flexible enough to slide over each other.

    Gasses have the loosest bond of any state of matter. The loose bonds allow the molecules to move freely and far apart. A gas has the greatest kinetic energy of any state of matter,

So it has greater k. e compared to solid Gas molecules are the most loosed, they take the shape of the container thus its molecules moves freely colliding btw themselves and its container. So gas has the greatest k. e amongs the rest
