    The answer is B. Bonds break to form new bonds. Elements are known to be the simplest form of structures. When they combine with another element they become a compound, combined with tiny bonds between joint electrons. A is almost impossible to occur, you can't change atom into another atom. C is just as impossible, if an atom breaks apart it becomes unstable until it reforms to its original form. D is similar to C
