If liquid water is exposed to normal atmospheric pressure, what needs to change in order to change its state of matter?

    If liquid water is exposed to normal atmospheric pressure, then it is exposed to constant pressure which means to change its state of matter the temperature of the system should be changed. Increasing the temperature will cause an increase in the kinetic energy of the molecules which will change its state to gas.
