The silicon needles on new blood analyzing devices can painlessly collect samples of blood with volumes of about 100 nanoliters. How many samples of this size would fit in a conventional 5 ml hypodermic needle?

    1 nanoliter = 1 x 10^-6 ml

    X nanoliter = 5ml

    X = (5 x 10^6) / 100 = 50000 samples in one 5ml needle.
