Is tap water salt or acid or base or neither? which is it?

    Salts have a neutral pH but tap water has many dissolved substances which makes its pH range from 6 to 8.5, meaning it can be either acidic or basic. However, if we look at strictly the salt, it is neither acidic nor basic.
