Periodic Table question: In what family would you classify hydrogen? Why?

    Hydrogen has only 1 valence electron so that means it's apart of the alkali metal family.

    Alkali metals

    Hydrogen only needs one more valence electron to fill it's out shell. So it belongs with the alkali metals.
