A room measures 15.0 ft in width and 12.0 ft in length. All of the walls are 9 ft high. If 1 gallon of paint will cover 374 ft^2 per coat of paint, how many gallons of paint would you need to purchase to paint the room with two coats of paint?

    Total surface area to be painted: ((15*9) + (12*9)) * 2=486 ft^2

    374 feet = 1 gallon

    486 feet = X

    X = 1.299=1.3 gallons for 1 coat, 2.6 gallons for 2 coats of paint.
