Explain the connection between a codon and an amino acid

    A codon is a sequence of 3 nucleotides which is used as the template for translation into amino acids. 3 codons will be read to produce 1 amino acid. I believe this is the answer.

    A codon is a three base sequence of mRNA. It codes for a specific amino acid, and many amino acids chained together make a polypeptide, or protein.
