When mixing vinegar and baking soda a reaction occurs. What caused the bubbles in the reaction?

Vinegar has acetic acid, and baking soda has sodium bicarbonate. when the two mix it yields carbonic acid and since carbonic unstable it undergoes double displacement which produces carbon dioxide in which the carbon dioxide escapes the sulution as bubbles
