Pressure is defined as the force that is being exerted by any substance per any unit area. For a gas, it is the force that the gas particles exert on the container walls. Atm or atmosphere and Pa or pascals are units pressure. There is 101325 Pascals or 101.325 KPa in 1 atm. Hence 2.42 atm is equivalent to 248,246.25 Pa or 248.246 KPa.
