Cellular Respiration and photosynthesis require a source to create energy.

For Cellular Respiration, the reactants are nutrients (oxygen being the most common). This is then converted into energy stored in ATP.

Now there are many forms of Cellular Respiration, but to keep it vague, the reactants would be sugars, amino acids, and fatty acids and oxygen. These are broken down into similar but much more simple molecules the body can use for energy.

In the case of Photosynthesis, the reactant would be the sun's energy and carbon dioxide. This is then converted into energy for the plant as well as producing oxygen
