If hershey and chase had used radioactive oxygen in their experiments instead of phosphorus and sulfur, what results would they have likely obtained?

    The real situation with this is that if since both proteins and DNA contain carbon and oxygen, both molecules in the phage progeny would have received the radioactive isotopes. Hershey and Chase would have been unable to isolate only DNA molecules or proteins that contain the radioactive isotopes of these elements.
