A long times ago glaciers would melt and form canyons leaving rock and debris behind. wind would blow dust particles against the rocks eroding them and forming them. gravity would pull rocks of of cliffs and they would hit other rocks and so on. water would flow against a rock, much like wind, and erode the rock.
