Would you expect heavy metals to be more abundant in old or new stars. Why?

    They would be more abundant in old stars. The way stars get energy and release heat and light is by nuclear fusion, or fusing elements together. In an old star, the star has had more time to fuse elements together into larger and heavier elements, such as heavy metals.
