When air is hot, the particles move faster and bump into each other because the molecules are excited and can move freely.

When cold, they are slow and barely move and they condense.

Increasing the pressure causes the air molecules to collide with each other and greater and greater numbers as I get closer together, and those molecular collisions "move" each other from the repellent for stay exert when I get close enough to collide.

When air is hot, the the particles move much faster and when the air is cold the particles slow down as they are condensing
