What is the total momentum between two identical balls traveling toward each other at the same speed from opposite directions?

    They have the same momentum before the collision. The total momentum will the the same before and after the collision. When the balls collide they will bounce apart with the same force and so the momentum is the same, but in opposite directions. No energy is loss in the collision.
