    This is more a biology question but anyway ...

    G = the dominant gene aka. the one that is most likely to be seen because it is stronger than g. GG and Gg will both show the dominant gene's characteristics.

    g = the recessive gene. The only way this one's type can be seen in gg form with no dominant gene to overpower it
