Spectator ions are those that are present in the equation for the chemical reaction but do not really participate in it. From the given, Ba2 + and (SO4) - 2 combine to form BaSO4. Both the I - and Na + remains unaffected from the reaction. Therefore, the spectator ions are I - and Na+.
